After spending 6 months at the International Space Station (ISS), Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa along with 3 other members have returned to Earth. The team landed off the coast of Florida at around 6:50 PM on the 12th, Japan time.
Furukawa stayed on the ISS for 6 months since August of last year, conducting experiments to create high-quality protein crystals for the development of new drugs and also studies aiding future space exploration missions.
This was Furukawa’s second time on the ISS since 2011.
