The accident happened yesterday (4 February) at around 11 AM in Kiyosu city, Nagoya prefecture. The victim was 72-year-old Sanae Okimoto, a resident of Nishi ward, Nagoya city. The woman had just exited the parking lot of a supermarket in Kiyosu City when she was suddenly struck by a car.
The crash caused her to fall back on her back and hit her head on the ground. She was transferred to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The car allegedly had just left its parking space and was not speeding. Further investigations are underway.
