Man arrested for using a spray can to steal two Rolex watches from a pawn shop in Kanagawa

On the evening of the 7th, a man was arrested on suspicion of using spray cans to steal luxury Rolex watches at a pawn shop in Kawasaki city. He attempted to flee but was then caught red-handed. 


The man who committed the crime was 22-year-old Watanabe Hiroki, a self-proclaimed office worker from Otama village, Fukushima prefecture. 


Watanabe is suspected to have sprayed a male employee of a pawn shop in Nakahara, Kawasaki city at around 4 PM of the 7th to steal two Rolex watches worth 13,53 million yen. 


According to the police, Watanabe visited the shop as a customer and suddenly committed the crime after the male employee there showed him the luxury watches in the showcase. 


The employee was able to quickly recover the two Rolexes but the man had already fled. However, he was soon apprehended by another store employee close by and handed to the police. Luckily, no one was injured.
