The arrested suspect was 25-year-old Kyotaro Nishimura, a teacher at a vocational school in Saga Prefecture on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse.
According to the police, Nishimura committed the act fully knowing that the girl was under 16 years old.
Later last month, the police received a report from someone related to the girl, saying that the girl had told them that she had had sexual intercourse with an adult man and the police have been investigating the details of the incident since.
The girl and the suspect had known each other since before.
Nishimura had admitted to the charges and the police had been carrying out further investigations.
