How to use LINE Pay for water and electricity bills, health insurance, and tax payments online without having to go to the Konbini
The smartphone application LINE Pay can be used to pay for services such as water and electricity bills.
If you already have the receipt, you can pay by scanning the barcode with your smartphone without having to physically pay at the konbini (convenience store) or banks the traditional way. Additionally, you will still be able to receive points just like payments at the konbini.
If your payment is made during point redemption programs such as Pay-toku, the total number of points redeemed will be from 15% and up.
Merits of LINE Pay payments
“LINE Pay” has a promotional system called “My Color.” Depending on their previous month’s spending, users can redeem a maximum of 2% of the amount of money used as LINE Pay cash. Specifications for the system are as follows:
In comparison to PayPay’s rate of 0,5%, LINE Pay is more beneficial when it comes to point redemption. The processing fee for each payment is basically free.

The list of companies where service bills can be paid via PayPay changes by the day. Therefore, make sure to keep an eye on the updates to know whether the companies in which services you are using can be paid through PayPay or not.
How to pay service bills with LINE Pay
Step 1: Open「ウォレット」(Wallet) in the LINE Pay application, then press wallet balance
Step 2: Press「請求書支払い」 (Paying bills)
Step 3: Press 「次へ」after having checked and confirm that all information is correct.
Step 4: The camera will open, use it to scan the barcode printed on the bill.
Using the TEPCO bill as an example, here, you will need to scan the barcode on the left.

Step 5: After confirming that all information is correct, press 「お支払い」
Step 6: Confirm the payment method and press 「○○○円を支払う」.
Here, rather than using your personal credit cards, you will have to pay with your LINE Pay balance. If the balance is not enough, you can charge by pressing「チャージ」.
Step 7: Finishing the payment
When this screen pops up, it means that your payment was successful. You will also receive LINE points at this step.

After having installed the LINE Pay application, you can proceed to pay via the application.

After launching the application, you can press the QR code reading symbol. The camera will open, and you can proceed to payment by scanning the code printed on the bill.
Some things to keep in mind:
You cannot pay via credit cards:
Since you cannot pay via credit cards, prior to paying, make sure that you have enough balance in your LINE Pay account.
No receipts: Payments via LINE Pay do not have receipts. Therefore, if you need receipts, it is better to pay in person at the konbini or banks.
