Japanese cherry - Sakuranbo picking is a popular summer activity in Japan. When it comes to Japanese cherries, one might think of Yamagata or Fukushima, but there are many other locations throughout the country where you can experience this interesting activity, one of which is the Kanto region.

1. (Gunma) Tsukiyono Maruka Orchards(月夜野まるかチェリー園)


Coming to Tsukiyono Maruka Garden, you will have the opportunity to try a total of more than 17 types of cherry grown here. Certified by the Gunma Prefecture, the garden is a perfect location for cherry lovers. The farm also sells products made from its fresh cherries, such as cherry jam.

2. (Gunma) Harada Farm(原田農園)


Harada Farm is famous for having a wide variety of different fruits available throughout the year, such as cherries, peaches, grapes, apples, and strawberries. Visitors to the park will not only be given the opportunity to try the freshly-picked cherries but also have a taste of the sweets and fruit juices made from the various fruits grown here, which are available at the workshop located inside the farm.

3. (Gunma) Takuminosato Village (たくみの)


Takuminosato Village is where visitors can go fruit picking and eating to one’s heart content the cherries grown in its seasonal garden. You can also stroll around the village to enjoy the peace and quiet of rural life, as well as check out the many dozen workshops and stores located in the area.

4. (Nagano) Sasa Garden - Sasaen(ささ園)


At Sasaen, not only can you feast cherries to your heart’s content but also purchase many types of fruits grown here, which are fresh, juicy, and absolutely delicious!

5. (Yamanashi) Hagihara Fruit Farm(萩原フルーツ農園)


Hagihara Fruit Farm offers a wide variety of fresh fruits grown throughout the year, such as cherries, persimmons, grapes, and many more. Located in Yamanashi Prefecture, the farm also offers a magnificent view of the Fuji Mountain nearby.
