The prettiest parks to visit in Osaka this summer

Osaka, Japan is a bustling and developed city that is second to only Tokyo in Japan. Aside from its well-known lively entertainment venues and endless shopping locations, Osaka also has a different side to it, which is more peaceful with beautiful parks that are sure to put your mind at ease.

In this article, GoEMON will introduce you to some of the prettiest parks in Osaka that would be perfect to visit this upcoming summer. Let’s go! 

 

1. Osaka Castle Park 

When it comes to Osaka, Osaka Castle Park is a location that definitely cannot be missed. Built in ancient times and still able to retain its original beauty, the castle has stood there for years as a testament to a long-standing history. The castle’s ancient looks mark a beautiful contrast to the bustling and modern look of the city. It is also the pride of the Osaka people. The park is not only perfect for people who want a good view of the castle but also for those looking forward to having a simple picnic or walking around to relax and let off some steam. Many trees and flowers that change color depending on the season are also planted all around the park.

2. Nakanoshima Park 

When it comes to parks in Osaka, one name that you definitely cannot miss is Nakanoshima Park. Located between two rivers, Dojimagawa and Tosaborigawa, the park is famous for its magnificent rose garden which features over 310 rose species. The park was opened back in 1891 and is Osaka’s first public park. Aside from the breathtaking scenery, there are also many cafes and restaurants located inside the park where you can relax and grab a meal.

3. Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park

Tsurumi Park, with its giant windmill and long rows of tulips in many colorful shades, will make visitors feel as if they have actually traveled to the Netherlands. Additionally, there is also a rose garden featuring the reconstruction of many of the world’s famous architecture and a separate greenhouse called the Flower Pavillion, which houses plants from 4 different types of climates. The park is also home to various other facilities, such as a gym, tea house, campsite, and many more, making it a perfect location to spend a full day at.

4. Osaka Expo Park (Banpaku Kinen Koen)

The Osaka Expo Park is extremely massive, with over 264 hectares of grassy lawns and trees along with many other facilities, such as a stadium, art museum, childrens’ playground and many more. The park is famous for its construction called the Tower of the Sun, a 65-meter high tower with three faces: the Golden Mask on the top represents the future, Face of the Sun in between the stretched arms representing the present, and the Black Sun on the back representing the past.

5. Nagai Park 

Nagai Park has a field of nemophila flowers that stretches into a breathtakingly beautiful blue flower carpet. Combined with the purple shade of the wisteria flowers the scene here is sure to impress any visitors.
