A male NHK employee was arrested for allegedly trespassing into a women’s changing room at a taxi company in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo. The suspect was reported to have been intoxicated at the time of intrusion.
The suspect is 29-year-old Suetomi Takumi, an employee of NHK Technologies Inc.
According to the police, Suetomi allegedly entered the women’s changing room of a taxi company in Shinagawa Ward at around 12:30 AM on the 6th. At that time, one of the taxi company’s female employees found that the changing room was locked. Sensing that something was out of place, she unlocked the room and found Suetomi sleeping on the floor. When said employee woke him up, Suetomi immediately ran away.
It was then that another male employee called the police, who came and arrested Suetomi on the spot.
Upon investigation, Suetomi admitted to sleeping in the changing room. However, he partially denied the charges, saying: “I don’t understand why I was arrested.”
Further investigations are underway.
With regard to the incident, NHK expressed its regret over the arrest of its employee and said it would handle the matter appropriately after confirming the facts.
