At around the 25th, a 67-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in her 80s at her place of residence in the Okhotsk region of Hokkaido.
The arrested 67-year-old man is a self-proclaimed civil engineering and construction worker from the town of Koshimizu. According to the police, the two had known one another for quite some time and had had interactions such as sharing food with one another.
On the day of the incident, the man had visited the woman’s house under the pretext of sharing a meal together but then began to forcibly remove her clothing. The woman told an acquaintance the next day that she was sexually assaulted by a man she knew, and the acquaintance then reported the incident.
As a result of the investigation, the man was arrested in the afternoon on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse.
The police are further investigating the case.
