Don Quijote’s operating company exceeds 2 trillion yen in sales for the first time

The annual financial results for the operating company of Don Quijote revealed that its sales had exceeded 2 trillion yen for the first time over the 12-month period up until June of this year, thanks to increased demand from foreign tourists and strong sales of private brand products. The group-wide financial results were announced by Pan Pacific International Holdings, which operates Don Quijote and other stores, on 16 August.

More specifically, sales increased by 8.2% from the previous year, reaching 2.095 million yen, marking the first time that the company has surpassed 2 trillion yen in sales for that period. Additionally, net profit rose 34.1% to 88.7 billion yen, setting another record high for net profit.

The company attributed its success to several factors, which includes the increase in foreign tourists, capturing inbound demand by expanding its lineup of character goods, as well as strong sales of private brand products in categories such as food and daily necessities.

In the press conference, President Yoshida Naoki stated: “A certain number of foreign tourists will still visit our store even if the yen strengthens, and we also possess many factors that allow us to compete with other corporations. We aim to continue evolving so that visiting our stores remains an unforgettable experience for our customers.”
