A babysitter in her 60s was arrested for assaulting a 1-year-old baby whom she was caring for by repeatedly dropping him on the bed. In response to the investigation, admitted to the charges, saying that she did so because she was irritated with the baby touching her glasses.
The person arrested is a female babysitter in her 60s, who was working for Poppins Family Care - a Tokyo-based company that provides home-visit childcare services.
According to investigations, in May of this year, she allegedly assaulted a 1-year-old baby boy whom she was taking care of at a client’s home in Tokyo by carrying him in her arms before repeatedly dropping him on the bed three times.
The parents, who were working in another room of their house at the time, noticed the baby’s crying and went to check the camera footage, finding that the child was dropped on the bed on his back.
The babysitter responded to the police, saying: “The baby was touching my glasses non-stop and would not stop even when I told him not to, so I got irritated and dropped him on the bed.”
