World Cup winner Argentina explodes with supporters' joy

Argentina won the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar for the third time in 36 years, defeating France in a penalty shoot-out.


Following the historic victory, many supporters in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires exploded with joy. Some jumped up and down in the town square waving national flags, while others celebrated with drums and flares. In Qatar, where the match was played, there were also loud cheers from the many supporters who witnessed the moment of victory.


Meanwhile, in France, cafés in Paris were quiet as France lost to Argentina.


Parisian: "It was a great match and France played well. I was very impressed."

Another Parisian: "Argentina was running the game better. Bravo, Argentina! Bravo, Messi!"


The next World Cup in 2026 will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
