Some contestants tripped and fell, but the audience kept on cheering them on.
One woman who participated in the race shared: “Climbing the hill was challenging, but it was a lot of fun.”
The winner of the men’s category for middle schoolers and above was a 31-year-old from Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture. He said: “It was my first time wearing running while wearing a costume, so I’m happy to have won. I want to participate again and defend the title next year as well.”
